Federal and State Tuition Assistance Programs
State Tuition Assistance approvals will be received in the Financial Aid office and payment will be credited to your student account.
Financial Aid, once completed, will be forwarded to the Business Office for payment on your account.
Any excess funds will go out to students, at the earliest, 30 days into the semester after attendance is collected and may be prorated according to attendance received.
Iowa Air/Army National Guard Members
State Tuition Assistance
Apply for State Tuition Assistance annually for fall and spring semesters.

- Select IA Tuition Assistance
The Iowa Department of Education will notify Hawkeye of your eligibility for the State Tuition Assistance and the funds will be dispersed to the school to be applied to your tuition.
Federal Tuition Assistance
Federal Tuition Assistance eligibility criteria will differ depending on branch of service. Contact your Education Service Office to get more information or visit the pages listed below for FAQ and contacts for each branch.
Federal Tuition Assistance refund policies align with the return of unearned student aid rules applicable to the Federal Student Aid guidelines under the Department of Education Title IV. If you have questions, you may discuss this with the following departments: Veterans Services, Financial Aid, or the Business Office. We will be happy to assist you.
Army National Guard and Army Reservists are able to access Federal Tuition Assistance in addition to active duty Army. Contacting your Education Services Office will assist you in understanding how using your Federal Tuition Assistance benefits may help you maximize your benefits.
